// mission
Academic curricula teach the theory. Self-study teaches the tools. But nothing replaces the experience of shipping real software with real teammates on a real deadline.
Procon recreates that experience faithfully — with open-source codebases, structured sprint cycles, mentorship, and a community that holds you accountable.

// faq
Everything you need to know about the platform, cohort structure, and team participation.
Procon is an open-source internship simulation platform. Participants are placed into structured engineering squads that emulate real production teams — complete with weekly sprints, stand-ups, code reviews, and senior engineer mentorship.
Procon is built for students, self-taught developers, and career switchers who understand programming fundamentals and Git, but need real-world team experience building production software.
Cohorts require approximately 10–15 hours per week. This covers sprint tasks, async team communications, code review feedback, and pair programming sessions.
You will build and contribute to active, production-grade open-source web platforms, developer tools, and infrastructure. All code written is public, attributed to your GitHub, and portfolio-ready.
Every squad is paired with experienced senior engineers who review Pull Requests, host async office hours, guide architectural decisions, and provide actionable feedback.
Yes, Procon cohorts are completely free for accepted candidates. Our goal is to make high-impact engineering collaboration accessible to ambitious builders everywhere.
// ready?
Applications for the next cohort are open. Spots fill fast — squads are capped to keep collaboration tight.
No spam. No nonsense. Just engineering.
